this is one of those songs. the kind that has either so subtly entered the social consciousness as to be immediately recognizable without knowing the source, or that simply has a melody so evocative of a particular familiar feeling that it feels itself as if you’ve always known it. it’s something like the wonder brought on by deja vu: has this really happened to me before?
